R A C R a small non-registered, non-profitable animal rescue in Nottingham that takes in local and some non-local rescue cases for Dogs and Cats. Some of the dogs come from pounds, if they are urgent cases (Euthanasia due to over population) and we work closely with other services such as the RSPCA, police, housing officers and social services. We rely solely on donations. RACR only has volunteers and no one is paid which is what makes us work well as a team due to us all being animal lovers.

If you’re able to help donate then please click our PayPal button on the right hand side of the page,  or you can donate direct to our vets, All Creatures Vets, account name RACR, please state whether for dogs or cats account, tel 01158374700

Thank you x

All pets handed over to RACR are seen by our vet for a health check and given treatment that may be needed. Once the pet has ‘the all clear’ by the vet they are neutered/spayed, micro chipped and vaccinated. A quarantine/assessment period is set (2 weeks) . Afterwards, the pet will go up for rehoming which consists of a Pre-Homing Questionnaire, Home Check and an adoption form signed by both the rescue and the Adopter. All dogs, cats and Rabbits will be spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated and Microchipped before leaving for new homes. All animals handed in to us are routinely scanned for a micro chip and if chipped we check the registration details.

Our work is constant and we work flat out 7 days a week! Our rescue is nearly always bursting with animals and our phones never stop ringing!

Do you love animals? Would you like to help by fostering? We have cats, kittens, dogs and more all awaiting foster homes before finding their forever home, the more we get into foster placements, the quicker we can save more from kill shelters or other dire situations! You’d be giving an animal much love and care and helping to save the lives of others! If you’re interested in fostering, please contact us (See Helping and Donating). Thank you.

Here’s Brandy, a rescue Staffordshire Bull Terrier who came into us in a sorry state and is now much more healthy, happy girl, full of love and cuddles for their 2 legged friends! Brandy was a death row pound dog and weighed a whopping 30kg!! Her claws had grown round and into her paw pads. She couldn’t walk more than a few steps and Was constantly panting to breath. Over the weeks she had a proper diet and started gentle exercise. She now weighs a wonderful 17kg and runs around.
